One-bedroom condo remodel · Sand Point, Seattle.

The idea behind this one-bedroom condo was simple: a home where you could work during the day and completely switch off at night. Every room needed a clear purpose, with a layout that made everyday routines feel easy. From the flow between spaces to the placement of furniture and decor, we wanted everything to make sense.

The living room had to accommodate both work and downtime. We carved out a dedicated office corner, giving it enough separation to feel like its own space without closing it off from the rest of the room. A few steps away, the living area takes on a different character, with a comfortable leather sofa and softer lighting. At the end of the workday, it's easy to leave the desk behind and settle in for the evening.

In the kitchen, soapstone continues from the countertop up the backsplash, letting the deep blue grey color become a grounding feature of the room. Different wood tones across the cabinetry, flooring, and floating shelf add variation. I love how wood doesn't have to match perfectly to look good together.

We replaced the upper cabinets with floating shelves, opening up the kitchen and creating a better visual connection to the dining nook. It's a small corner that works just as well for morning coffee as it does for dinner. The lighting was planned around how the kitchen is used throughout the day, with plenty of light for cooking and softer options for evenings at home.

The bathroom received a substantial change as well. We removed the old tub and replaced it with a walk-in shower and built-in bench. It's a simple addition that makes the shower more comfortable to use, especially at the end of a long day.

Throughout the condo, we paid close attention to how the spaces connect and where things belong. Furniture placement helps define each area while keeping circulation easy. Even the smaller decor pieces were chosen for specific places, so everything feels like it belongs without filling every available surface.

The bedroom was kept especially simple. No desk, no reminders of work. Just a comfortable place to rest.
